Cambodia Casinos

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where casino wagering is not legal. Eight gambling halls are based in a generally small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; however, financial sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are supposedly required to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship gambling den, contains 150 slot machines and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that features a number of amenities in addition to the casino, which offers 10,000 square feet of 130 slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
